Looks like the odds are getting down to these two guys getting into a bidding war between USC and LSU. Franklin apparently likes the USC job but LSU is willing to throw a ton of cash at the guy if they can't get Jimbo Fisher. Kiffin is a solid third place at LSU (and second place at this time according to the bookmakers if Fisher is really out) in the odds for the LSU job and many want the guy back at USC and think he's grown up as a coach...but many others think he's still the jerk he's always been. Personally I would look at Dave Aranda, Luke Fickell or even possibly retreads like Peterson or Stoops and even if he's not one of the fan favorites Bill O'Brian. Fisher is supposed to be out of the consideration because many believe LSU can't outbid A&M for his services. The total cost to LSU to dump CEO and his staff $26M. They don't seem to have an issue with paying outrageous sums to coaches. Four big questions for USC..1.) Will the next coach pass the Foit check list? 2.) Will USC be willing to spend on a HC and then pay the staff around him? 3.) Will USC will be willing to give that HC a free reign in running the program? 4.) Will the BOT, President and AD be willing to take a step back and allow the program to concentrate on football without their interference? We already know Foit told Bohn he coauld pick the next coach and then said nix to Meyer even if he was never asked. We also know Bohn has screwed up three of his four hirings of a football HC. Not a great record.
