Congrats to Washington - the #1 team in the pac!

Great game yesterday, Dawggie fans!! Oregon came up short. Washington clearly has the best QB in the pac12 right now.

But after this weekend I'm not too concerned with Oregon running the table and hopefully still ending up in the p12 championship game with one loss. No longer worried about WSU and USC at Autzen, nor at Utah without Rising. Maybe the toughest game left is OSU at Autzen.

I had predicted Oregon to lose the toughest game on their schedule. I was right. Now we get the rest of the games to see where the Chips fall. More than happy to play UW again in Vegas if it comes to that. With a neutral field, I think Oregon will again give Penix a ton to think about.

Tough day for the WildWest yesterday. It's how your team responds to losses that matters most. Let's see what happens to USC, UCLA and Oregon going forward. Can't wait!! 🙂

Nice to see the PNW almost carrying their weight here on the Wild West Board (including the usual 2 Duck posters perpetually patting themselves on the back...... joined by the recent re-emerging dialogue from fairweather UW posters (one with a"woof-woof"??... I mean really??) who have just rediscovered enough self esteem to jump bank on their UW bandwagon .......for now.

Ironcially back then (2000 specifically, a few years after the start of Java's board), Oregon Washington and OSU were all on top of the p10. We're not quite there yet in 2023, but getting close and never thought we'd even come near that kind of PNW representation again! And not a season too late....

Yep, the wildwest was hopping back then in that it had great representation from not just Bruins and Trojans, but from those three PNW schools as well, along with a number of Sun Devils and one or two WSU and Stanford fans, plus a host of Cal fans and the occassionaly Wildcat.

Those were fun days in the WW....a true wild WEST.

BTW Dave Samek was a good man, unlike the jokers that run Dawgman these days imo.

OK LA you have a good memory. I was @pthrapp. In 2007 I lost a job of 24 years. My new job in tech was way above my head. I spent most of my time learning Linux, running mail servers, sql, networking, data centers, etc. B4 I was a main frame guy. I even guit posting at dawgman. The turmoil among DAWG fans there that Ty brought on was disheartening. I still did the match up page each week though. Still do.

My 1st in person Husky game was the fall of 71 at Autzen. Six killer against Foutd. The star of that game though was Bobby Moore, aka Amad Rashad.

I am trying to recall a few characters from those early days. Lots of ND & Nebraska posters. It was here I 1st heard slang like NumbDummies & Cornholers. Also a wild UCLA poster who I forget his handle now.

BTW I met Java online at ASCP10 newsgroups. It is still active with 8 of us. An Oregon fan does a weekly Pac pickup & keeps score. Season winner gets bragging rights.

Yes Java the Mayor (John) is still there too.

Our D is definitely better than last year. The 1st half last week was kind of tough with our tackling. However that Oregon offense is strong. I have to consider Oregon also had trouble stopping our passing attack. And they have a very good defensive back field.

We made stops when we had to.

Now we need to take care of ASU. Not always easy there or at home lately. I am trying to focus on the next game & enjoy this journey. One of the best seasons in a while for this old DAWG.

Well said LA Duck. Oregon more balanced and 2nd year in a row Lanning's play calling hurt his team. Can't discount the performance of UW's OLine. Great game, against two fantastic teams.

Assuming we both can get past the Beavs, the rematch will be epic!

For me UW & Oregon are pretty even. I'd even say the DUcks are slightly better. However Penix & that set of WR are unbelievable. Had UO made that FG I feel UW would have lost. Our D is not that good. A bend but don't break.

I hope we have a rematch in Vegas, but the DAWGs still have a tough schedule to navigate through. Who knows what could happen playing those games. Injuries can really change the completion of a team. There will be some good talented player to be faced.

Looking forward to these coming games though. Been an exiting season of the final Pac season.

Looks like the playoffs may very well go through the pacific northwest this season between UW, UO and OSU....

Wouldn't that be hilarious if OSU wins out and goes to the playoffs in their last season in a major conference?!? Didn't help SDSU much appearing in the NCAA Finals, but maybe would help Oregon State find a new home, and one better than the MWC, if they reach the playoffs.

I disagree woof woof about UW's defense. Of course it is not championship caliber but it is good. At least good enough for the offense to carry the burden of not having a stellar D. What is important, like last year, the defense is getting better as the season went on.
