At this point in the season I think Ohio State is better than Oregon. I think Michigan beats Ohio State and moves into No 6. If that win is impressive I might move them ahead of Alabama. Alabama, Ohio State have poor defenses. It will be Oklahoma and Georgia in the finals.
@firenze5 After watching Ohio St...I don't think they are playing all that well ...they could easily have three losses this season. Way overrated IMHO which is hard to understand considering all the talent they've collected over the last three seasons...but they are nowhere the team they should be....I don't like their running game or their defensive play at all ...Oregons victory is way overrated...when I watch PSU play Ohio St and see them almost beat them with a lousy QB that with his back injury unable to throw an effective ball...and then watch Oregon against the weak PAC and look like crap.....way overrated at number four....
SEC has kicked ass in the playoffs which the SEC has owned even with the Clemson's , the Ohio States and the Oklahoma's thinking they could challenge. Don't know how anyone can call it an SEC fix when a very good Georgia team has been left out in the past and teams like Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Ohio State got invites...
If BAMA stays lucky and makes it to the SEC championship game against GA, and loses does anyone think BAMA will not make the playoffs and wouldn't destroy Oregon if the were the two teams left on the board for the #4 spot. MSU is rated too high at number 3 IMHO...Oklahoma would kick their ass as well even if their runingback ran for 300 yards...That top 4 is a joke.
@August West Unfortunately the SEC rules college football and a two loss BAMA would still kick ass on Oregon who is another weak sister of the terrible PAC conference. Oregon is the worst number fourth rated team I can remember and Cincinnati would probably best them as well as would a number of other teams in the top 10. Ohio State was way overrated and it has shown in a number of games. Oklahoma is now on a roll with the QB change and even with their D. would probably beat Oregon...
@OldHickoryTrojan I think it will all play itself out in time. Likely Oregon doesn't go its final 4 games plus the potential p12 championship without a loss (or 2?)
If we quacks do go 12-1, then we deserve to be in the playoffs IMO.
@OldHickoryTrojan the only team head and shoulders above the rest is Georgia. Bama has already lost to a good but not great Texas A+M and was lucky to beat a mediocre Florida. At least Oregon has a road win over Ohio State. Not saying they are better than Bama but I see a game between the two as very competitive and yes Oregon on a neutral site could win
Wow. Oregon getting mad respect for the win at the 'Shoe this year. "Mad" being the operative word as even I, the homer I am, would be crazy to think my quacks are the #4 team in the nation right now.
But at least we have a fighting chance to make the playoffs....crazy as that sounds. Interesting point by Feldman below...
@LA Duck take it to the bank if The Ohio State and Oregon win out the committee will figure out a way to screw Oregon despite winning AT Ohio State. And yes on this issue I am paranoid.
in the first playoff rankings. It's like the committee said UC, you're a nice story, but no. If they go undefeated and don't get in, then it's pretty much a done deal that Luke Fickell won't be at UC next year.
Georgia
Oklahoma
Cincinnati
MSU
Alabama
Ohio State
Oregon
Michigan
Notre Dame
Wake Forest

faux playoffs are mo different than the poll system….it’s just a popularity contest paid for by the SEC.
Fn joke.

Agree, I’m not convinced. But why not have an 8 team playoff to prove it. Hell, you can even hand Cincy the #2 seed and let them open with #7.
