    Cancel Culture Comes For ND

    in WildWest Football Board

Notre Dame’s luck ran out Wednesday when its Fighting Irish leprechaun was slammed for being the fourth most offensive college football team mascot in the nation, according to a new survey.

The little green guy caught heat for cultural appropriation — with critics calling him a disparaging symbol of Irish Catholics— after ranking only slightly better than San Diego State’s Aztec Warrior, Florida State’s Osceola and Renegade and the University of Hawaii’s Vili the Warrior, according to a survey by the sports apparel company Quality Logo Products.

Who here knows an Irishman that does NOT think it is awesome that the Song of Their People is literally the sound of a beer bottle being broken over someones head in a pub brawl? The only people who are offended are not Irish.

Its offensive that ND pretends to speak for Irish people. It has no right or claim to do so. Context is everything. One persons song of celebration can be anothers song of oppression.

The well-known Radetzsky March is an example. It celebrates a feldmarschall's crushing of a rebellion by the Milanese against the good and proper rulers of Milan, the Hapsburgs. It was a bloody slaughter. ND spits on Irish heritage through a crass racial stereotype.

“If a mascot — any mascot — is offensive to anyone, it should be reconsidered,”

Anyone? Everything is offensive to at least somebody.

Then I understood...this came from Jean. A 25-year-old Jean. 25 year old Jean who lives in NYC and is an ' actor'.

At least ND will 'consider' Jean's request then say "Just shut up and get me my order".

The Seminole community, i.e. Seminole Indians, love FSU and their mascot. The only people who don't are do-gooder fucks. If they ever try to change that mascot, look for the Seminole nation to have a collective shit hemorrhage. Should be fun to watch.

See, the Leftists place themselves above those they claim to bleed for, and if they don't agree, then fuck those they claim to care for. It's all narcissistic preening. The Sue liked the name "The Fighting Sue," a Native American was the star goalie for The Fighting Sue and wanted to keep the name, and the Chief of the Sue Nation came from Canada to argue that the Sue liked the name. But no, fuck the Sue and what they want, the Left knows better and will have what they want. The Sue are unhappy, but the Left feels good about themselves, and that's the important thing.

@BobLinMN-2 You're referring to the Fighting Sioux, right? North Dakota school? Yeah, I heard about that. It's fucked up.

@Waldorf i knew the guy who played the Stanford Indian. He was a full blooded Klammath and a Stanford graduate, (so he claimed). He was pissed when they canned the nickname, Indians. He told me none of the Indians he knew disliked that name.

Stanford did not care what the students or alumni wanted....changed the name anyway. Punks.
