Calling it for UGLY. The difference is the SC defense is less dependable than the ucla D, which will allow the bruins more opportunities in the red zone. DTR will be MVP. He’s a good QB going in and the SC D will make him look all world. He will be taking off often from the locker.
Caleb scrambles for a big 1st down in the 4th quarter. big time players make big time plays in big time moments.
bonus: gaystalker drinks too much pre game and doesn’t make it thru the game. Friends dump him on his his front yard with puke on his shirt and urine drenched pants.
I hate to say it, but ucla's strength is USC's weakness and that option controls the clock, run game. Thinking Ucla 41-35 or some such. I would have the score even higher but Chip will try to keep CW off the field. Hope to be wrong of course. Fight On!
As much as I hate to say it, I don't think UCLA will be able to hang in this one. It might be close in the third, but UCLA's Defense is absolutely atrocious and the DB play is bordering on non-existent. The only incomplete passes from UCLA's opposition that past few games have been bad throws or just drops. Not one actual pass break-up or good coverage that I can think of. The plan has been to let the opposing QB get inside his own head and just make mistakes. That won't work tomorrow, bobble head will just move the pocket and break contain and then lights out. Would not be surprised to see USC run all over as well, they will put a spy on Williams and Riley will exploit that over the middle, our LB's are all short, like mini palm trees, so TE and WR's will eat well using simple Inside Cross variants or runs to the outside, and when it doubt throw deep, the flag will be there.
Calling USC 52
UCLA 41
Game MVP will be Williams
Pivotal play will be DTR throwing a P6 in the Red Zone in the 3rd.
I am sure that defensive coordinators in college have have the same info on opposing quarterbacks. looked , couldn't find one.
Don't think Williams attacks the middle like you suggest. He doesn't throw timing patterns either. He certainly doesn't get rid of the ball quick or with any urgency. He holds the ball longer than any quarterback I have seen since Francis Asberry Tarkington. Caleb has that luxury due to his mobility.
One of the reasons he doesn't have picks, is because he only throws to guys he can see are open. Backyard style. Tough to jump a route if you have no idea in the route when the quarterback is going to get around to throwing the ball. It was a problem earlier in the year when receivers gave up on their route too soon.
Don't think I have seen the standard timed out pattern the NFL judges quarterbacks on all season. utla would be smart to sit in deep zones. sc
SUC wins by 17 pts...after watching UCLA lose to Arizona last week I have a completely different outlook on this game
ucly wins easily...neither team will pass well in this wind.
