Why not? He's not that much older than Jim Knowles and has been a far more successful HC than him too so he would bring a lot of credibility to the table. TCU's title contending team from last year was built by him so the man knows how to develop talent and coach.
My only concern would be cultural fit as I don't know if someone who is essentially retired and has spent much of his adult life in Texas would want to transition to such a congested area like LA BUT I heard GP was on campus for the first week of spring ball so who knows?
