He is now signed through the 2026-2027 and his salary will go up to $4 million per year.
He should give a cut to Calipari.
Without Juzang Cronin is on the hot seat
@Pasadena Trojan I'm sure Calipari regrets Juzang bailing, but no way is Cronin on any hot seat if Juzang isn't at UCLA, not after only 2 years. Cronin developed a lot more guys on that roster than Juzang.
Extensions these days seem automatic. I'm sure the AD granted it because to NOT do it after a Final Four run would be unusual, but they probably didn't have to because Cronin isn't going anywhere.
maybe. maybe not.
Without Juzang, and a great bracket, Final 4 doesn’t happen.
Last year wasnt special. Either was this year until March Madness...
That’s my point
@Pasadena Trojan Yeah, I know. And it's a lousy one.
@Waldorf I am not so sure it is...
to be honest I am more worried about Enfield leaving. If he stays I think were competitive.....If he doesn’t were dead....again Lol.
Especially with a quality coach across town.
@Pasadena Trojan I wouldn't worry about it if Banjo Boy leaves. UCLA doesn't have a quality coach; any success they've had is all due to Johnny Juzang. It's true, I read it on Wildwest -- about 3,438 times.
Lollol. I guess I am speaking out of both sides of my mouth a bit.
Juzang was awesome. Thats on HIM.
Bracket and circumstances broke in your favor. zags vs Baylor. bama vs Houston. Abilene Christian Vs Texas.
But yes Cronin is a Nick Saban type coach. Fundamentals. Limit mistakes. Tough D. Disciplined.
Now ask me. Do I prefer Enfield vs Cronin?? Honestly i might say Enfield.
Lets see how this shakes out. Mora started off hot too....So did the Weasel and now back to hoops, Lavin.
@Pasadena Trojan Enfield has done a good job. It's tempting to say it was all because of the Mobleys recently, but you have to look at overall success, which has been good, especially for a program that hadn't received much national recognition.
It's a good point about Mora, but a better comparison would be Howland. How long college hoops players are willing to buy into a disciplined defense-oriented coach is a mystery. I'm hoping Cronin doesn't wear out his welcome in the time span it took Howland, but more importantly that he sticks to his philosophy.
No comparison either to those other coaches, who shall remain unnamed.
Howland is a great “market comp”.
Good eye. Lots of similarities
