gives him time to recruit the players he wants etc etc. 15 years seems a hell of a long time to build a program. I also will never understand how Alcindor ended up at UCLA from New York. That just didn't happen back in the mid-60's. Kids didn't go to school 3,000 miles away from home back then. It simply didn't happen.
