The Titans had an employment contract with coach Pola. Coach Kiffin cannot ignore the existing contract obligation which coach Pola had with the Titans. Coach Kiffin should have contacted the Titans seeking permission to speak with their assistant coach Pola before he initiated any discussions with coach Pola. By failing to do so, coach Kiffin has exposed himself and USC to potential legal liability to the Titans for tortious interference with the Titans' existing contractual relationship.
Coach Fisher's comments regarding coach Kiffin's actions at UT merely illustrate previous examples where coach Kiffin has ignored other existing contractual obligations.
