That's rich

So now the Sub Zero is a tremendously built, poorly designed refrigerator. It's always those rich fat cats sticking it to labor!

With regard to Sub Zero, you're picking the wrong product to go after. These guys were commercial refrigerator makers and experienced tremendous growth due to the American consumer's decision to start bringing commercial grade kitchens into the home. The early Sub Zero's were designed to take up little floor space because most of their customers had walk in refrigerators and freezers. Plus, Sub Zeros have far larger engines than most consumer grade refrigerators, eating even more into their storage space.

In the commercial world, it's all about the seal (after the motor). So Sub Zeros practically glue together when they shut. Those early consumer models differed very little from the commercial stuff, because that is what the consumer demanded. They came out with some attractive covers for the doors, but that was about it. As consumers tastes warranted, Sub Zero switched to some other models that have much greater freezer capacity and easier access.

I love how you feel you can criticize a great company based on a single model of a wildly popular product.
