..Government". Thats a bumper sticker that says it all and growing in making an appearance. It speaks succintly to the disconnect that is the recent governments agenda driven actions versus the wants of the majority of is citizenry.
People were frustrated in the 2008 election and saw Bush as its target, despite many other government represenatatives causing most of their building problems. They lashed out and took Obama because he was not Bush.
And that action followed Pelosis subsequent statement about the healthcare bill "We had to pass it to see what we got". Now that we now what we got the result is dissapointing, closer to bodering on fear. To restsate Alexander Grahan Bell "What hath the voters wrought?"
Today we have seen a deep division of people instead of the promised healing. We have seen the old politics of Washington in which the very rich stay rich, and the public employees are now the newly semi-rich, secure and entitled. The middle class "who would not be taxed" are bearing the brunt of the new expenditures. The big companies who were "the enemy" are now those that are selectively bailed out by the even bigger goverment through its taxpayers.
The foreign policy that had America as a leader sees instead a country whose "Leader" is apologizing for past actions, and explaining the "ordinariness" of this once great country.
He favors immigrants over citizens in Arizona, is quick to judge in the care of educator vs police in Boston, and killer over killed in a Texas massacre-but is slow to move in real crises like the BP oil spill. He leads not by action but by throwing more money into the fray. Its like the USA is his own academic term paper on making Liberalism work. So far hes got a D grade.
All this is by a Government who tripled the future debt in quickened votes on bills like the Bailout and Healthcare.
There was a hue and Cry when DD Eisenhower was the "Golfing" president but the country was in a huge growth period. Tosay there is nada said about a President , who is once again on vacation, and in a constant race for re-election as the economy spins in place or worse. Whats proposed is yet bigger taxes that will indeed put a death blow to our struggling economy.
No wonder these sticker users are afraid.
