This is the Pete Carroll offense

By: SCSmashmouth

The old Pete Carroll has been in full control freak mode since 2005. Remember back in the good old days how he bristled at reporters referring to the SC offense as the Norm Chow offense and Pete snapped back that it was the USC offense. No it is the Pete Carroll offense in all it's boring vanilla predictable "glory". 2006 at OSU when Pete wouldn't let SC air it out until they were down by 20 points. 2006 against UCLA when Pete played it just like yesterday and refused any adjustments at half time playing right into Dwayne Walker's hands because of his arrogant belief his athletes would win on that aspect alone. The 2007 RB against Michigan where Pete insisted SC run, run , run into the nations number 1 rushing defense all first half long. He admitted after the game he finally allowed Sark and Goatboy to air it out in the 2nd half--you wonder if they had to fall at his feet and beg him to do so. 2007 against Stanford refusing to put Sanchez in and instead to keep a QB with a broken finger in there, not too mention running into a 9 man front at the end of the first half even though his OL was crippled with injuries. 2008 at OSU..what more needs be said about that first half. And, now Washington this year where SC ran the most predicatble vanilla offense in the country making a hero of Sark and Holt. Yes Petey it is all on you.

Every year we see this same conservative approach to these Pac 10 games making them needlessly close or losing them outright. He continues to meddle with the offense producing crappy results. You would think he would learn by now that he isn't helping but he does it over and over and over. You know what they call doing the same thing over and over and yet expecting different results...insanity. No I'm not saying Pete is insane but he is one of the most stubbornly arrogant people I have ever seen. Maybe Clemente is right about him being as dumb as a door knob.
