SC called at least three deep passes in the first half that I saw and Corp missed on a 20 yard out, and he checked down for two others hitting Havili for a long gain and missing on the other. By the end of the game, Corp couldn't hit slants the most reliable pattern this side of a bubble screen and his was missing wide open receivers in off tackle seams which are the shortest throws in football for the distance covered.
Play calling cannot fix a quarterback that cannot feed the playmakers.
USC can call tons of four vertical deep patterns but unless Corp can feed them the ball, it will be for naught and if he throws to the one receiver in double coverage then it will only help the other team.
