"Monte Kiffin Field" at Autzen Stadium

LOL!  No, not named as such because of USC's big win over Oregon last season....primarily due to Monte shutting down the duck offense for about 3 quarters.

But, if things had just gone just a little differently 35 years ago....

You see I just found out Monte Kiffin, DC at Nebraska, was up against Rich Brooks back in 1977 when Oregon was looking for a good new head coach.  Never knew that...

The field at Autzen Stadium was named for Brooks for winning the conference championship and going to the Rose Bowl in 1995.  That could have been Lane's father instead.

Heck, in a parallel universe maybe Lane ends up as head coach at Oregon....?

And Chip is still an assistant over in New Hampshire... :-)
