Sorry,  I'm not a touchy feely guy.  I believe in personal responsibilty and that family should take care of family. I just happened to have been very good at what I did.  THe fact that the patients had great outcomes is just a byproduct of my expertise and professionalism. Sorry, you want your hand held, call someone else.

I have never thought that medicine is any more a right than food or clothing or shelter.  Still don't.  And no I am not a socialist either.  There should be a safety net for those that are truely invalids.  Other than that, fawk em.  You don't save for the winter, starve.  Don't like it , move to a socialist country and suck their public tit dry or go somewhere and worship a monarchy.  Either way, leave me alone and stay off my private beach and outside my guarded gates.  Don't pay your bill ,  I'm not interested in any excuses. I turned everything over to collections.  EVERYTHING.  

I too have run across some real scum bag doctors.  But they are the exception rather than the rule.  THey also stick out like sore thumbs.  

I don't believe in any group  rights or that anyone is special for any genetic reason .  I treat everyone the same. Hate to burst your bubble, but that's they way it is.  Janitor is no different from the nurse , surgeon or patient or ceo of the hospital .  I am also a mirror.  Someone gets in my face and they get it right back, I don't give a crap who they are. A judge is just a piece of shit appointed  lawyer in a robe.  Celebrity or fame means nothing to me.  Merit means everything to me.  You want respect , earn it. 

Medicine has been very kind to me.  Let me retire at age 50 and financially secure for life.  I set out at age 25 with a medical license and a plan. ANd yes that included getting out of bed in the middle of the night far too many times. Now I don't have to do jack shit.   I happened to have worked hard, and  invested well. I did my time.

  Would I recomend anyone go into it now that it's an official entitlement?  No.  Too much work for too many years for decreasing payoff and gratification.  Nurses dress like doctors now so you can't tell them apart.  They are overpayed and for the most part, like most woman are unhappy.  Even worse is the new breed of female doctors. THere's a sorry sight for you.  Almost all are miserable and most can't even handle working full time.  What a colossal  failed social experiment that was.  THis is the reason there is a doctor shortage in America. Woman never know what they want other than they know they want someone to pay their bills and they don't ever want to work full time.  

AS fare as what the public thinks of me?  I don't care.  Never have. I don't care what anyone I don't know thinks about anything or how they address me.  Means NOTHING to me.
