I am trying very hard as NYT says: to see the forest through the trees. I don't think that Monte is going to be fired (even less likely than K.O. which is inexcusable).  Would you retire from his job? 

The only thing worse than Monte's D is Monte trying to coach a D he is not fluent in to young players. At the least we are recruiting exactly the kind of players we need to be successful in the league going forward. When Monte decides to retire (I know pipe dream) it won't exactly be difficult to lure a good DC with players already stockpiled to have a dominating D.

In the mean time I would rather see Monte sticking with what he knows and see some variations that take advantage of specific talents and yes I would love to see that include occassional jamming recievers and more man coverage. I think that is dreaming though. Unfortunately, the worst case scenario is brewing:

With the talent that is being accumulated this will develop into a very good defense - and then we are really stuck. Still better than being a Bruin. LOL
