Auburn's long-time radio annnouncer had died during the off-season. So, to honor him, Auburn was going to do a special cheer after their first score (or maybe first touchdown, I don't really remember). I recall that they had the crowd practice a few times before the game, even having the public address announcer do a phantom/practice touchdown call.
And the cheer was never heard after kickoff. Well, perhaps during the next game, but not that steamy night at Auburn as USC shut out the Tigers.
