USC does recruit itself

No other program could take the talent Hackett, the worst coach in program history, nearly destroyed, and mold it into championship material in short order. Those talents came to USC even with a terrible figurehead leading the program. Even in the worst of times USC picks up enough talent to be the core of championship teams once an appropriate coach arrives.

It took Brown nearly a decade to sneak into a championship following the disaster Mackovic.

It took Osborne FOREVER to get his title following a great coach.

Those elite places had to be rebuilt. USC simply needed a different approach. This place is different and very, very special. Its the greatest program in college football.
