They got 2 coaches from ASU's old staff

and one who used to be with the staff in like '09.

Steve Broussard did an excellent job with ASU's receiver in the 2 seasons he was in Tempe and a great job recruiting. He taught our WRs to block down the field way better--and recruited heads and shoulders better--than our former (and current UCLA) WR coach Eric Yarber. Running back is his natural position, so he may have even more upside from the Bruins in his new capacity.

Yarber was a bust for ASU. Dennis 'stole' him from UW with the promise EY wouldn't steal any of the guys he had recruited (to that point) to UW. But he carried that promise too far and didn't really land anyone at all for ASU, that year or the subsequent years. Stand by to have the Bruin WRs really love their position coach because he's their buddy and doesn't make them work real hard. More of the same, in other words.

Noel Mazzone, OC and QB coach does a really good job of working with QBs. But he also has a bit of the Yarber 'Why work hard today when you also have tomorrow and the next day?' attitude, IMO. He was an upgrade over Rich Olsen, but several dead people would also have fit that bill. He likes to throw whenever possible, including third and short and fourth and short. Sometimes on 3rd or 4th and inches. He will bring the punter and especially the kicker--on FGs, not XPs--a lot of work. Also, the guy is a booze hound. He was tore up at Scottsdale night spots several nights a week down the stretch run this past season... about the time ASU's season went in the crapper. If he doesn't work out as an OC, he makes a hell of a drinking buddy, I am told.

Don't know much about the rest of their staff other than Klemm is a great recruiter/decent OL coach and their S&C coach can teach upper level courses in Sideline Tripping, if they're still offering that in Westwood.
