They may actually be able to coach, but

what if they coach like NFL coaches, where you play for field position and field goals. NFL coaches play conservatively and mostly be the textbook which is based on percentages of success. In the NFL, the talent level is even, so it makes sense to play with the percentages and be successful 65 percent of the time, which will get you in the playoffs. That's the goal of any NFL coach, get in the playoffs and then see what happens.  That style of coaching doesn't work so well in college where one loss may take you out of the NC. Coaching conservatively keeps games close against teams with inferior talent, a mistake PC made far too often with his BBDB defense. When you have a talent advantage you stomp on your opponent. There is no reason to play it safe and keep a team in a game.

It will be interesting to watch Mora and see which style of coaching he favors. I would suspect NFL. If so, it will probably help his team against vastly superior opponents, but it will also keep a lot of his games close against inferior opponents. Expect a lot of close games.
