bluff. Pete would have said "go ahead and fire me." It would have blown up in USC's face.

Agree that someone in HH should have told Pete that he's expected to hire competent assistants and not his kids, kids friends and other lackeys, but they didn't have any leverage in the situation. Too bad Pete was such a fucking child about getting his props. Totally f'd his situation and USC's at the same time.
