Really? Certifiably insane?

I know its not safe to argue with the site owner but...I've never been one to worry about that so...

First off who the heck is U of San Diego...they are a 1-AA team. At Stanford the 'quick' turnaround coach never got beyond .500 until his 4th year, 6th game. By that time USC under Pete was 35-9 (.796).

What has their college player record have to do with their coaching career? But just to be complete Pete was a 2 time all- PCC player at UOP, not a punching bag.

Pete had 4 years as head coach in and 11 as assistant coach/ D Coordinator in the NFL. He also had 10 years as Assistant coach or DC inclduing Pacific, Arkansas, Iowa State, Ohio State, and NC State (3 years) before coming to USC. In his NFL stint at New England he had almost the same record in those years (in a tough division) as Marv Levy, Bill Parcells, and Jimmie Johnson. There was 2 games separating their W-L record. Pete made the playoffs 2 of 3 seasons.

Pete's "lousy" job in 2005-2009 was a BCS finale  game, a 2,4,3,3,and 22 poll position in the AP and a 13-1,11-2, 11-2, 12-1, and 9-4 record that dwarves Harbaugh's 4-8,5-7,8-5 and 12-1 at Stanford with his single 1 top 25 appearnce (in his last year). .

No comparison...you are right.... but you said wrong the guy was better.
