I dont know Haden's thinking

I think the appeal was forward looking and not trying to defend the past regime. A strategy based on we will accept the sanctions regarding that punish the Bush teams, but contest the sanctions that punish the school going forward. It shows some contrition.

I do not agree with the strategy, but that may be Haden's thinking.
