than Pau.
Fine, Pau is soft and slow, etc. He is also one of the most, if not THE most, skilled pivot players in the NBA.
Odom is a nice cog to have, but not much of a skilled player; no post game; hangs around the perimeter mostly and grabs offensive rebounds when he can.
There is a reason the Lakers were crappy as all hell for 3 years with Odom before Pau arrived -- and then, POOF, immediately turned into a title contender (3 consecutive NBA Finals; 2 Titles) the moment Pau arrived. In fact, whenever Odom has been even the 2nd best player on his team, his teams have been super shetty.
The fact of the matter is this: the more Odom shot, scored, and played (12 FGA/gm, 15ppg, and 39 min/gm from 2004-07), the worst the Lakers were. When Odom reduced his share to 9.5 FGA/gm, 12ppg and 32 mis/gm from 2008 to 2010, the Lakers were drastically better.
I agree on not losing Brown, but that is a new thing. Farmer, Murphy and McRoberts all blow.
